Explorer Travel Bags

A great interactive way to explore the Museum and its collections.

Young people take on the role of an explorer,  with a special bag of activities and objects and clear instructions. They even get to wear a special explorer's hat!

There are three different themed Explorer Travel Bags to choose from (suitable for different ages):

Wildlife Explorer Travel Bag

Discover the tantalising aromas of the East and learn about the traditional treasures of New Zealand!

(Recommended for ages 7 to 9)

Museum Explorer Travel Bag

Discover the hidden workings of a museum through activities such as measuring light levels!

(Recommended for ages 9 and above)
