An exhibition of meaningful mosaic images by Cleo Mussi.

A quiet moment of contemplation with any of these works and they begin to share some of their subtle secrets – themes of loss, love, divinity, fear and retribution – the world of fairy tale. This is why Cleo is probably the leading exponent of mosaic art and why you should spend some quiet time alone with her work.

The exhibition is a partnership with Winton Arts and Media College. All the exhibiting artists are Year 11 photography GCSE students.

Ceramics Showcase

Five ceramic artists from the south take part in a new selling exhibition in the Russell-Cotes conservatory.

The five featured ceramic artists are Clare Copeley-Williams, Fiona Kelly, Joanna McManus, Janet Parker-Laird and Sasha Wardell.

Learn how to create your own Victorian Christmas cards.

A winter choir will be performing in the museum during the day (performance times to be confirmed).

 

The Drawings of Frederic Lord Leighton (1830-1896)

16th October 2007 - 6th January 2008.

Leighton was one of the most eminent artists of the Victorian age. This exhibition features over 50 drawings by Leighton, many of which have not been exhibited before. Free entry.

In Print: Limited Edition Prints of Contemporary Landscapes

Hambledon Hill, Howard Phipps

1 August - 1 November 2009

A special exhibition of limited edition and intoxicating landscape prints from celebrated artists Martyn Brewster, Paul Finn, Ross Loveday, Howard Phipps and Sarah van Nierkerk.

These five notable artists have works in some prominent private and public collections, including HRH the Prince of Wales's private collection (Ross Loveday), the V&A and the British Museum (Martyn Brewster), as well as being regular exhibitors at the Royal Academy.

All pieces are for sale, from £35.00 to £450.00. Please pay at the Russell-Cotes Shop on the ground floor.

The Big Draw 2009

Everybody is invited to come and join in the national Campaign for Drawing's annual bash at Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum.

With a portraits theme, everyone can have a go and get involved. Artist Graham Scott will be on-hand to give drawing demonstrations and inspiration!
